What Jeans Size Corresponds To Your Regular Clothing Size
Finding the perfect pair of jeans may seem straightforward, but it's more than just a basic choice.
The right jeans can be a versatile staple in your wardrobe, making the decision about colour and style crucial.
Consider Your Body Shape: Different jean styles suit different body shapes.
For example, straight-leg jeans are versatile for most body types, while high-waisted jeans will accentuate curves.
With my high-waisted jeans, I like to go up one size and cuff the bottom to create a tapered look, accentuating my ankles and adding a stylish touch to the outfit (first picture).
For my straight-leg jeans, I stick to my true size for a perfect fit that doesn't require a belt (as shown in the second picture below). Additionally, I opt for one size up occasionally to add variety, but these need to be belted to stay comfortably holding on to my hips.
For a pear body shape like mine, a looser tapered fit that follows the natural lines of my larger bottom half works best.
Skinny jeans are incredibly flattering for hourglass, triangle, and inverted triangle body shapes.
Body Shape Consideration: Skinny jeans are incredibly flattering for curvier shapes like hourglass and triangle, especially in a high-rise jean with stretch so it offers more comfort and support.
For straighter body types like inverted triangle and rectangle body shapes, more of a mid-rise or low-rise skinny jean will feel more comfortable.
Leg Shapes: Skinny jeans elongate the leg, wide-leg jeans add drama and comfort, and straight-leg jeans offer a versatile, timeless look. It’s all about experimenting to see what aligns with your personal style.
Fabric Matters: Jeans with a bit of stretch (e.g., 2% elastane) are great for movement, while rigid denim provides a classic structure that molds to your body over time.
Styling Tips: Jeans can be incredibly versatile. Pair them with feminine blouses, tailored jackets, or sneakers to create different vibes, whether you prefer polished, casual, or edgy.
Remember the rule of three when pairing them with a crop or shorter jacket for a well-balanced look.

When heading to the fitting room, it's wise to try on sizes one size down, your usual size, and one size up. This ensures a better fit, considering the variations in sizing among different brands and fabric compositions.
Factor in the best colours to collect according to your brilliant colour combinations e-book (aka Coco, refer to pages 48 - 50) when choosing denim, as certain denim shades will complement your wardrobe better than others.
Remember, quality beats quantity every time.
You don't need an excessive number of pairs; curate your wardrobe with precision, ensuring each item works effortlessly.
